Instructions
  1. Hull the strawberries and slice them
  2. Put the strawberries in a bowl, sprinkle sugar over the strawberries
  3. Stir the vanilla extract in to the strawberries
  4. Macerate the strawberries with the sugar and vanilla in the fridge (up to about 3 hours, but you can 30 minutes if you are impatient)
  5. Put two, one pint glasses in the freezer to chill whilst the strawberries macerate
  6. Whip up about a half-cup of cream with some sugar for the topping
  7. Once the strawberries have macerated, pour them in to a blender, along with any strawberry juice that leeched out
  8. Put 3/4 cup of the milk into the blender
  9. Pulse blend until strawberries are pulverized. There should be no big chunks left at all.
  10. Add the optional malted milk powder and blend once more
  11. Add the entire pint of ice cream to the blender
  12. Stir the ice cream a little inside the blender to help the blender out and not burn out your motor
  13. Spike the mixture with a shot of vodka and amaretto and the optional strawberry liquer
  14. Blend the strawberry & ice cream mixture thoroughly.
  15. Pour the milkshake into the chilled glasses, garnish with strawberries and fresh whipped cream.
Recipe Notes

If the mixture won't blend or gets stuck, carefully add a little milk, as much as 1/4 cup more. Don't just dump the milk in though. Add it slowly until the machine can blend again. Pulse option on blender is our friend. Burned out motors are not our friend.
